What is a Kinring poster?

It’s a personalised print that maps your family’s birthdays around a wheel of the year. Each person takes the colour of the day they were born, and partners and parents are joined by a line through the middle where the colours meet. Every family’s wheel is unique.

What sizes and framing can I choose?

Posters come in 30 × 30 cm and 50 × 50 cm. You can order the print on its own, framed in oak, black, or white, or on magnetic wooden hangers in oak, dark wood, black, or white.

Framed posters arrive fully assembled and ready to hang, with the print behind shatterproof acrylic and the hanging hardware already fitted. Hangers grip the paper magnetically — no pinholes — and open so you can swap a print without tools.

What paper is it printed on?

Every poster is a 300 DPI print on museum-quality uncoated matte paper: heavyweight 250 gsm (110 lb) stock, 0.29 mm thick, with a matte, uncoated surface in a natural off-white. It feels closer to card than to a thin poster, so it hangs flat without curling.

The paper is acid-free (pH above 7), so it resists yellowing and holds its colour for decades rather than a few seasons, and it is FSC-certified from responsibly managed forests. See the sizes & framing page for the full breakdown.

How does designing it work?

You answer a short, friendly set of questions — just names and birthdays. Then you pick a look and adjust the palette, ground, and lines, and it repaints live as you go. You review a full preview before you buy.

There are 13 palettes plus watercolour grounds, so you can make it feel calm and monochrome or full-spectrum.

Do I need an account?

No. There’s no login. Your design lives in your browser while you work on it, so you can leave and come back on the same device. See our privacy policy for the details.

Is the birth year shown on the poster?

Only if you want it to be. The year is optional — names and the day/month are all the design needs, and the year is never displayed unless you choose to include it.

How long until it arrives?

Each print is made to order. Production usually takes 2–5 business days, then tracked shipping — roughly 2–5 days within Europe and up to about 12 days for the rest of the world. Full details are on the shipping page.

Can I return it if I change my mind?

Because each poster is personalised and made to order, change-of-mind returns are limited under consumer law. But if it arrives damaged or misprinted, we’ll replace or refund it — just contact us within 14 days. See the returns policy for specifics.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

They’ll be very close. Screens and print differ slightly by nature, and we print on museum-quality uncoated matte paper that renders the palette beautifully but not identically to a backlit display.

Can I put more than a nuclear family on the wheel?

Yes — add as many people as you like. Partners and parent–child bonds are drawn as lines. Other relationships (siblings, grandparents, friends) still appear as birthdays on the wheel; we’ll let you know at confirmation which connection lines can and can’t be drawn.

Can the poster remind me about the birthdays on it?

Yes — birthday reminders are an optional add-on offered at checkout. We email you a few days before each birthday on your ring, and give you a month’s warning before the round ones. Only you are ever emailed, and cancelling deletes everything we stored.

How do I get help with an order?
